I love waxing because my skin is very sensitive to shaving and waxing is fast and easy, a little bit more painful but it leaves my skin feeling sexy smooth. I've been to other studios before and I've never receive the same treatment that I get at Velvet Wax Studio. My stylist cares if the wax is too hot and she asks me how I'm doing while she waxes me. I could not be happier with Velvet Waxing Studio!! Wow! From the moment I stepped in the front door, I immediately felt a sense of "ahh..." It is small and intimate with a great decor. I was asked if I wanted some strawberry water while I waited.I have had waxes from 3 out of the 4 women at one time or another. Each woman is considerate, respectful, friendly, and totally puts you at ease. Each gave recommendations to help afterwards. I love waxing for many reasons. I love the way that it makes me feel. I do waxing for myself, but it helps that my husband likes it too! My skin is very sensitive and my waxing gal helped figure out what works best for my skin. Everytime I go, I am always treated like a friend and the staff truly cares for you. In preparation for a rustic tropical vacation, I had a lot of waxing done - underarms, arms, legs, Brazilian. In the past I'd done my own underarms (which was always nightmare) and had my legs done at a spa with very poor results, so I was a bit nervous. It was a great experience and I had great results. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I expected, and Taj was very personable, professional, and put me at ease. My skin was less irritated, and the minimal irritation I did experience resolved itself much earlier than I've experienced in the past. It was great not having to worry about shaving in the cold gravity fed showers while on vacation. Even 3 weeks later, I'm happy with the results. While I likely won't be getting so much done at once in the future, I cannot imagine going back to doing my own underarm waxing (or any other waxing) now that I know how it can be when done by a professional at Velvet. - Marie (email)
